Working with themes surrounding concepts of home, place and individuality, Jennifer Schmidt gives sentimental importance to common household objects and building materials through touch, placement, and subsequent alteration-- wishing to question the material nature of what is being created. Hopelessly inorganic, flowers of habitation bloom from pruned pink fiberglass insulation, exposing itself as a willful material.
